Strategic Planning

SCACAP assist local Community Action agencies with developing a strategic plan for their organization. The strategic planning process is designed to assess an organization's capacities and environment, clarify its mission, build a shared vision of the future, determine its priorities, set common goals for the entire organization, create action plans, focus energy and resources, measure results and evaluate and adjust the organization's direction in response to evolving customer and community needs and a changing environment. In short, the process is about developing and implementing a strategic plan and then tracking its progress and evaluating itsresults.

The strategic plan itself is a road map to achieving a shared vision of the organization and/or community in 3-5 years. Over the long term, the strategic plan acts as a blueprint for implementing changes that incrementally realize the organization's vision.

Dissemination of Information

SCACAP is responsible for the distribution of information publicly as well as privately with our networks. We are tasked with sharing tools and resources that help our communities and also educate our Community Action Agencies.

Advocacy/Education Outreach

SCACAP participates in the advocacy and educational outreach for individuals that are unable to advocate for themselves.

Statewide Programming

SCACAP ensures consistency in curriculum and outcomes throughout our community action network. These programs are developed and managed by a consortium of participating agencies, therefore consolidating the resources of our community partners to better serve the vulnerable population of South Carolina.
